Excavating
Water problems rarely have one cause, so I don’t sell one fix. I look at the whole picture — where water lands, where it runs, and where it’s doing damage — then solve it with the right combination: burying downspouts so they discharge away from the house, regrading to send water where it should go, cutting swales, controlling erosion on a slope, and installing french drains where the water needs a channel. On clay-heavy Upstate ground, getting the water right is what protects everything else you’ve built.
Most Upstate drainage headaches trace back to clay soil and a yard graded the wrong way. I regrade and drain for how this ground actually sheds water.

I follow the water from where it lands to where it pools, so we fix the cause, not the symptom.

Regrade, cut swales, and set the fall so water moves where it should.

Drain & protect
Bury downspouts, add french drains, and armor the spots that erode.

Run water through and confirm it clears before I call it done.

What’s the difference between this and a french drain?
A french drain is one tool. Drainage & erosion control is the whole plan — grading, downspouts, swales, and a french drain where it’s the right answer. Sometimes you need one, sometimes several.
Can you stop erosion on my slope?
Usually yes — with regrading, swales to slow the water, and ground cover or hardscape to hold the soil. I’ll tell you what that slope actually needs.
Water’s getting under my house — can you help?
Yes — moving surface and footing water away from the house is where I start, and I handle crawlspace drainage too. I’ll come look and lay out the fix.
